Titus

I represent everything this show has to offer: white trash, NASCAR, domestic abuse and murder. No, not really, not even the murder part. But I still feel that Titus is my life story. That cannot be a good sign.
Inspired by the comedy of Christopher Titus, the comedian turned actor stars as himself in his own autobiographical series, surviving the horrors of his life.
Titus operates a hot rod shop with his red-headed-stephchild of a half-brother Dave and best not-gay friend Tommy. He dates his high school sweetheart Erin against the approval of his father, Ken Titus. His schizophrenic mother lives in and out of mental institutions, whether the institutions know about it or not.
In an autobio such as this, you might expect that the star to give a soliloquy or aside, much like Malcolm in the Middle, but Titus gives his in the privacy and security of the Neutral Zone, a monochromatic shed with a single light bulb. Much of this is used for segwaying into flashbacks, including his traumatic childhood and teenage years.
This is without a doubt one of the most disturbing sitcoms to grace a major network. If you speak the language of cynicism and need to see a deranged family to make yours look better, check it out.
